Overview

Ideal for university students with all levels of Spanish, our semester programs include courses accredited by Universidad de Sevilla. Programs begin with an orientation session which includes an intensive Spanish language course. Academic schedules combine regular university courses in English and Spanish, program-specific courses designed for international students, and supplementary language and tutoring sessions carried out by YES staff. A supplemental Spanish course and Discussion Forum continue throughout the semester.

Internship experiences and technical visits can be incorporated into programs.


Objective

Our programs aim to provide students with the most immersive study abroad experience possible. Students will attend classes at the renowned Universidad de Sevilla with other international students. Classes are supplemented by YES courses and turoring sessions to help our students adapt to their academic and cultural experience here in Seville. Our staff is bilngual and bi-cultural and is always avalilable to assist students.

January 28th, 2013 - End of June or beginning of July (Depending on exam dates which vary by course)

Transportation

Flights to Spain

Hassle-free international airfare can br coordinated for groups and invidivuals alike. Travel reservations are made possible through a partnership between YES and a renowned travel agency. We do not require that travel be reserved though our partner, and airfare is purchased separately. Payments for flights are made directly to the travel agency. If you plan on flying into a different airport (not Seville), we can offer advise on travel between other Spanish destinations to Seville.

Airport Reception and Transfers

Students are met at the Seville airport by YES staff on program start day. Participants are transported to orientation site or directly to accommodation, depending on program schedule and time of arrival. Students arriving before or after the program start day may request an individual airport reception for an extra fee.

Excursion Transport

Transportation for most excursions is included in the program cost. Optional Excursions are paid for separately.

Additional Information

Intercambios

YES students enjoy the added benifit of getting to meet and socialize with local students. We organize intermcambio activities with Spanish university students to promote the mutually-beneficial exchange of language and culture.

Insurance

Medical and life insurance is provided for all students during the program term. This includes medical evacuation and repatriation, as well as 24-hour support services for medical issues.

Mobile Phones

All YES students may receive a phone upone request with discounted calling packages for use in Spain. With these cell phones, parents, Resident Directors, family and friends at home and abroad can communicate with students and more easily contact them in case of emergency. Students order their cell phone online prior to departure, providing a credit card for billing purposes. The mobile phones are maled to students in the U.S. so that they have the phone and number before arriving in Spain. When in Spain, incoming calls are free. Outgoing calls incur a per-minute charge, and text messages also a carry a fee per text.

YES Center in Seville

Students attend classes in the YES Center, which also serves as a meeting point, staff offices and study space. The bullding is centrally located and is open Monday through Friday. The Program Director is available for students during office hours and is always on-call to assist in the case of emergencies and urgent matters.

On-site Orientation

During the first two days in Seville, studetns will receive orientation about the city, school, and their program guided by the YES staff. This orientation is designed to provide students with the necessary tools to help them integrate in the city and culture as soon as possible. Students will receive useful information on safety, transportation, cultural trips and classes.

Tutoring

Students can request additional Spanish tutoring once a week if needed. Tutoring will be held a tthe YES offices by the Spanish professors.

Cultural Activities

YES students will enjoy a variety of cultural and social activites. These can include events such as cinema movies, theatre, concerts, sporting events, local festivals and other activites to enhance their integration into the culture.

Excursions

Participation in organized excursions is included in our programs. We organize various half-day, full-day and overnight excursions. Half-day excursions are usually field visits in and around Seville, which full-day excursions and overnight excursions allow participants to explore other Andalusian cities. Intermational excursions of one or two nights are also sometimes arranged. Lodging, breakfast, and transportation to and from te excursion location are included in program fees.
